Time to finish the rug on my Navajo loom. That's my Hitchhiker spinning wheel in front of the loom - I'll be using that to spin the rest of the wool for the rug.

There was a Catholic priest in Hawaii who worked with the sufferers of leprosy on Molokai. I always knew I would have struggled with the same type of unconditional acceptance that Father Damien lived. Below is a video by a Hawaiian artist, Israel "Iz" Kamakawiwo'ole, who may have also struggled with acceptance in some ways, but overcame it in many more ways. He sings my favorite song in this video, and is a daily reminder to me to try to be a better person, to hear the Light in his voice, and to remember the example of Father Damien in his life of service.
