"Safe Passage" Christmas 2011 Simply Art (c) Spindles

At Christmas time, we generally think of all the people in our lives or in the world that need us, or we need them.  This year, I decided to again paint some Christmas spindles.  The theme is "Safe Passage", and the spindles each have two views of the beach.  When I stand on the beach and look out, I wonder if the whales are safe, how are the seals, are they traveling north yet? And in past years we have had more sharks here going after the seals, newsworthy events, what is changing in our environment to have the sharks coming in closer and closer?  Great Whites now common?  What has changed, is it global warming? May each sea animal that passes Cape Cod have safe passage this year through the migrations that have continued for millenia.
